To install new firmware, just copy appcode.hex to the drive cartridge's main directory, power up unit.  It should do nothing for a couple seconds then you should see a steady blue hard drive activity light for ~30 seconds.  After this the unit will reboot, and that's it.  The file will still be on the drive however the unit will ignore it and you may delete it if you like.
